“I turned 30 and took is very badly. I drank much too much wine two weekends in a row and it ended in tears, vomit, and a pot plant falling on my face.”Read More
“Turning thirty seemed quite scary and overwhelming for me. I remember as a child I thought it was just so old. But on the day of my thirtieth birthday I remember thinking, wow it really doesn’t feel that bad after all. I had achieved so much personally and was looking forward to the next chapter of my life.”Read More
This week the spotlight is on one magnificent lady. She has transformed her health and life in ways many of us only dream of. When I first met Michelle we instantly connected and I have had a little girl crush on her ever since. Not only is she beautiful, clearly she is, but her grace and character is what inspires me the most.
This is Michelle’s story
“Ever since I was a little girl I had always dreamed of what my life would look like from my teens, my 20s, my 30s and beyond. As wonderful as it is to have dreams, they don't always turn out as you plan. Sometimes the complete opposite actually.
When I was 16, I became ill suddenly with glandular fever which then progressed into post viral syndrome, or more commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Off I went into the unknown with not much info and only a hope that I would get better someday, somehow, as unfortunately the medical industry knew very little about the condition.
I felt like all my dreams and aspirations had gone out the window and almost felt like a part of me had been stolen.
The end of my teens and 20s saw good and bad times. Some days were harder than others but as I headed into my 30s my health just kept declining. This was not how I imagined the beginning of my 30s to look like.
At 31 I was unable to work properly and was struggling with life in general. I was missing out on my enjoying my children the way I wanted to and had fallen into depression. My future was looking very bleak and I couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel to the point that some days I just didn't want to be here anymore.
That same year I decided to book myself into a health retreat to look at a more natural way of healing. Within the first couple of hours of being there and speaking to the doctor they diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigued Syndrome, Adrenal Fatigue, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and low vitamin D levels. Although it was overwhelming to start with, it was so wonderful to hear they had some solutions for me and recovery was possible through a natural path.
The past 4 years of recovery haven't been an easy road. Ive lost a husband, time with my children and friends, careers and missed out on many experiences. However, Ive also learnt so much about my body and how to heal naturally. Ive gained a beautiful new partner and step children, new friends and a new lease on life!
At 35 I am now 95% recovered and happier than Ive ever been. Im excited for the future and what it holds and look forward to sharing my recovery story in hope of helping others in a similar situation.”

“A cancer survivor, a woman of colour, living in a prejudiced society, my message to all you gorgeous and talented people in the world, is to believe in yourself, love yourself, love the skin and body you’re in, flaunt your scars, have the courage to speak your mind, don’t conform to injustice, live the life you always wanted to, because that’s your path to healing and attaining inner peace and happiness that you’ve throughout been seeking outside of you.”Read More
“Everybody is different, so different experiences happen to each of us at different points in our life. Some of my friends started their careers at 20, while others started at 40. We all have our own individual time and pace. In my 30’s I’ve realised that it really doesn’t matter how long you take to achieve your goals. Everybody has their own unique value to offer. It may take years to discover your own, but it’s definitely there.”Read More

Look, I'm gonna be real honest with you, I hadn't planned to take any photos at the shooting bays at the Palm Springs portrait conference back in September (*a shooting bay is a station set up up with a back drop and a model ready to be photographed). And I certainly didn't plan to photograph anyone without planning an actual shoot! My inner control freak rarely lets me act all sponteneous and carefree....because that means I don't know what the outcome might look like and let's be honest, THAT freaks me out! Are you nodding right now? Uhuh...you know them feels.Read More
